EXPERIENCE
With over twenty five years of experience as a professional photographer, you are in very safe hands with me. Photography is (and always has been) my sole source of income as well as my passion. It is not a part-time hobby. I have a wealth of experience to fall back on - including twice photographing Her Majesty the Queen inside Buckingham Palace. My many years as photojournalist serve me well when I am photographing weddings, as my reactions are extremely fast. This is vital for true reportage photography. Also, I am a “people” person. WEDDING PHOTOJOURNALISM ASSOCIATION
I have now been accepted into the Wedding Photojournalist Association (WPJA), an International, membership-based organisation representing professional photographers skilled in the documentation of weddings and events in a candid, unobtrusive style. As a WPJA member, I am pleased to join the ranks of some of the most talented wedding photojournalists in the world as judged by their technical, creative and visual aptitude. The WPJA is not an organisation that can be bought into, as membership is only granted to photographers whose work is of a high-enough standard. Many photographers say they shoot weddings in a reportage style, but when you look closer at their photographs, you can see that much of their work is staged. WPJA membership is only open to true reportage wedding photographers (also known as wedding photojournalists or documentary wedding photographers). I am very pleased to have been accepted. As a member, I am held to strict membership standards regarding image quality and content, technical and creative technique, business ethics and communication. In turn, I gain prestigious affiliation with one of the industry’s top professional organisations.

YOU KEEP ALL THE DIGITAL FILES!
All of my packages include a CD of FULLY OPTIMISED high-resolution digital files of all of your photographs, with FULL PRINTING RIGHTS to allow you to make your own prints or albums, should you so desire. I typically take between 200 and 350 photographs (depending on length of coverage) in a mixture of colour and black-and-white (approx. 50:50). Beware of photographers who promise you thousands of photos, as most of these will be duplicates of similar shots due to their inability to decide exactly when to press the button to get that perfect shot.

QUALITY
In order to achieve the highest quality photographs possible, I shoot weddings in “RAW” file format. These are the digital equivalent to negatives in traditional film photography. As such, they need to be processed and they take longer to download, optimise and to convert to JPEG than if I were simply shooting direct to JPEG in camera, like many cheaper photographers do. However, the results speak for themselves, making the extra 3 whole days (or more) spent on optimisation well worth it. When this time is taken into account, my hourly rate is a lot lower than many apparently cheaper photographers, while still allowing me to produce far superior results.

PRESENTATION
I always wear a dark suit when I photograph weddings as I feel it is important to dress for the occasion. Many wedding photographers are criticised these days for dressing far to casually - often in jeans and sweatshirts, which only draws attention to themselves. By dressing smartly, it helps me to be as unobtrusive as possible which enables me to get the best reportage wedding photographs of the day.

BACK-UP
I use top-of-the-range Nikon professional digital cameras, with back up cameras, lenses and flash units ready to hand in case of equipment-failure. I have full public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance.
